Sister Emmanuel

Sr. Emmanuel was invited to travel from Medjugorje to Rome for a private meeting with Pope John Paul II. [Brother Ephriam, the founder of her order, the Community of the Beatitudes, a deacon in the Catholic Church, was also in attendence with his wife (center) and a priest from Poland (far right).]

During their November 15, 1996 meeting, Sr. Emmanuel told the Holy Father, "I've heen living in Medjugorje for 7 years and my mission is to spread the message of Medjugorje through books, tapes, TV shows and talks all over the world. Do you...", I never finished my sentence for, upon hearing these words, the Pope's hand leapt on my forhead, and his face became amazingly radiant and he made, or rather marked, a sign of the cross on my forehead and said aloud: "I bless you!" When she showed him her book on Medjugorje and her children's book, "Children, Help My Heart to Triumph", which he leafed through, he blessed her for a third time!

Sr. Emmanuel reported in her December 1st (1996) news: "The joy expressed by the Holy Father when he heard that the Medjugorje appeal was being spread all over the world was for me the greatest gift of this encounter."

The priest from Poland who had accompanied them later wrote: "[...] It was so important for Sr. Emmanuel to recieve the blessing of the Holy Father for the work she does in spreading the message given by Mary in Medjugorje. She wished to be given some kind of confirmation by the Church about the mission she carries out. The Pope listened carefully to Sr. Emmanuel when she spoke about her presence in Medjugorje and her task of evangelization, then he made a sign of the cross on her forehead and blessed her work. As I looked at the Pope, I had the feeling that this meeting was as important to him as it was to her. The testimony she gave concerning her work and her plans for the future, in connection with the mesage of Medjugorje, received the Pope's full agreement, it even caused him joy." (Fr. Sister Emmanuel of the community of the Beatitudes has lived in Medjugorje since 1989. She co-hosts with Denis Nolan a new 1/2 hour weekly TV program, "MEDJUGORJE: OUR MOTHER'S LAST CALL with Sr. Emmanuel", which is now being aired throughout the world.

Regarding Sr. Emmanuel's October 22nd briefing in Congress:

With all my heart I want to thank those of you who prayed for my briefing to the Congressional Human Rights Caucus in Washington, DC. this past October 22nd (the Feast of Our Lady of Kazan!). I spoke on the messages of peace being given to the world by the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje. (I apologize to anyone inconvenienced by the fact that just beforehand the room was changed and the time moved up to 10:00 AM instead of 2:00 PM as had been previously announced.) But God's ways are not our ways. I'm convinced that what God wanted to happen, happened. I don't think it was a coincidence that the briefing ended with watches ringing the time of apparition in Medjugorje. Congressman Chris Smith encouraged us all to end with prayer - calling down upon all government leaders in the capital the graces being extended to the world right then through Our Lady's coming to Medjugorje.

The Blessed Mother truly loves America. I could feel her joy to bless all those guys in Washington. Remember what she told us, that through love we can turn to good all that Satan wants to destroy and take for himself. Pray with all your heart for your government leaders. God is doing amazing things - absolutely incredible things - in Congress! I truly believe Our Lady fully intends to be victorious there! Pray - with love - for America's leaders in Washington!
